Britain China Trade Association Limited
‘CHINA CLUB’
Ø The China Club will be a forum for individuals with an interest in China to meet each other and develop their China interest whether the interest be cultural, business related or scholarly/academic.
Ø By meeting other China enthusiasts, you will have an opportunity to develop your China interests, to learn how the Chinese comprehend western culture; and you will know more about the impact China will have on our economies and the potential consequences. If you are searching for a business opportunity or wish develop an existing business, the China Club will help you understand the Chinese market.
Ø China is 9,600,000 square kilometres in size, has a population of 1,300,000,000, fifty-six ethnic groups, a vast country with a GDP in excess of US$2.86 trillion. China is the event of the century, the biggest show on earth. China will have the largest economy in the world (expected to overtake America in 2015), the strongest currency and the best-equipped military. The Chinese having been isolated from the outside world until recently are keen to meet Europeans. The Chinese possess innate business skills and they want to sell to, trade with, and learn from Europeans.
Ø The membership of the China Club will be a resource for all members to research the practical side of China trade, the licences required by the Chinese authorities, and how to apply. The membership will include professionals who have relevant knowledge and experience of business between the UK and Chinese Economic Development Areas. The China Club membership will include economists and other professionals who have a practical knowledge of Chinese Culture, language, International Trade and the Chinese legal system.
Ø The China Club will organise events in the friendly surroundings of the Arts Club and other Central London venues so that members can exchange China ideas and experiences. The China Club will field an impressive selection of speakers and depending on the requirements and interests of members, invite visitors from China and arrange mutual business and cultural exchanges. This is an ideal time for making contacts in China alongside the China Now festival www.chinanow.org.uk/ in support of the Olympics.
Ø China Club events will be professionally organised by our Events Manager Jean-François Dor at www.jeanfrançoisdor.com who will introduce members with similar interests to each other; the China Club has a policy of positive networking. The purpose of the first meeting is to ascertain whether there is sufficient demand to establish a China Club with a membership fee.
Ø The first China Club event is at the Arts Club on 30th January 2008 at which we will have an interesting speaker, John Robson, on the ‘Impact of China on the World Economy: The China Phenomenon’. Please reserve your place by completing and returning the enclosed fax back form.
