April 2008


  • On the 30th April at 7 pm, we welcome Mai Pham-Ngoc who will talk about the Arts in China, the cultural exchange between our countries and Art as an investment and commodities. Mai is currently organising an exhibition in Lille and will show us slides of Chinese Art both contemporary and ancient.

  • On the 28th May Dr Kerry Brown has agreed to come to talk about the diplomatic relationship uk-china and its history.
  • On the 26th June Sophie Hanmore will talk about her walk on the Great Wall of China, please support her on www.justgiving.com/sophiehanmore in help of the Cutty Sark Appeal.

  • On the 30th July, Ted Prior will talk about his business in China Freight Forwarding and International Household Moving. Now retired, he is enjoying a successful career as a Toastmaster, Master of Ceremonies, Host/Presenter as well as helping to train individuals in China in his old industry. He is Beadle to The Worshipful Company of Constructors, The Worshipful Company of Fruiterers and The Guild of Airline Pilots and Air Navigators. He has made three trips to China - November 2007 - November 2008.'
